Ingredients:
- 2 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
- 4 cups water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4 black tea bags (or tea of your choice)
- Ice cubes
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Optional:
- Lemon slices or wedges for added citrus flavor
- Honey or additional sugar to taste


Instructions:
- Prepare the Peach Syrup:
- In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced peaches, water, and granulated sugar.
- Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Allow the peaches to cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until they are soft and the sugar has dissolved, stirring occasionally.
- Once the peaches are cooked, use a potato masher or fork to mash them slightly to release their juices and flavors.
- Strain and Chill:
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the peach mixture cool slightly.
- Set a fine mesh strainer over a bowl or jug and strain the peach mixture to separate the syrup from the solids. Press down on the solids to extract as much syrup as possible.
- Discard the peach solids (or save them for another use, such as topping yogurt or oatmeal).
- Place the peach syrup in the refrigerator to chill.
- Prepare the Tea:
- Boil 4 cups of water and steep the black tea bags in the hot water according to the package instructions (usually 3-5 minutes).
- Remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool to room temperature.
- Assemble the Peach Ice Syrup Tea:

- If desired, add a squeeze of lemon juice or a lemon slice to each glass for a citrusy twist.
- Stir the tea gently to combine the flavours.
- Taste and adjust sweetness with additional honey or sugar if needed.
